Privacy Policy (Uniqueer)

This Privacy Policy explains how Uniqueer (“we”, “us”, “our”) processes your information.

We design Uniqueer to collect as little personal data as possible, while still operating a social network.

1. What we collect

1.1 Account & Profile

• Authentication data: email (if you sign up by email), OAuth identifiers for Apple/Google/Instagram/Facebook/X (we keep only what’s needed to authenticate), password hash (if applicable).
• Profile data: username, bio, avatar. Public by default.

1.2 Usage & Technical

• Logs and diagnostics: IP address, timestamps, user agent/device data, app version, error logs. Purpose: security, abuse prevention, reliability. Retention: see §7.
• Hosting & access logs (website): when you visit uniqueer.co, our hosting provider Vercel Inc. processes your IP address, request metadata (e.g., path, headers), timestamps and user agent in short-lived server access logs to deliver the site, mitigate abuse and ensure availability. These logs are kept for a short period (typically a few days) unless a longer retention is explicitly configured (see §7).

1.3 Content you upload

• Posts, photos, videos, comments, reactions, follows, votes. Stored in our infrastructure (media in Supabase Storage).

We do not request or require sensitive categories (GDPR Art. 9) such as sexual orientation or gender identity. If you voluntarily disclose such data in your content or bio, it is processed solely on your instructions to host and display it (we do not classify or profile you based on it).

2. Purposes & legal bases

• Provide the service: Contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Security & anti-abuse: Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Legal compliance: Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).

We do not send marketing emails. We may send an email for verification if you choose email sign-in.

3. Minors

Uniqueer is 18+ only. We do not knowingly allow or process data of minors.

4. Visibility & publicity

Profiles and content are public by default. NSFW/18+ content is hidden/blurred by default and requires an explicit 18+ acknowledgment to view. Use caution when posting personal information.

5. Sharing & processors

We do not sell data and do not share it with advertising networks.

Processors (service providers):

• Supabase (Auth/DB/Storage/hosting of media and data)
• Vercel (website hosting, edge/CDN; short-lived server access logs for delivery and security)

6. International transfers

Data may be processed where our providers operate. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and implement appropriate safeguards.

7. Retention

• Profile & content: while the account is active.
• Logs: 180 days.
• Backups: 180 days.
• Website access logs (hosting): short periods (typically a few days) unless longer retention is explicitly configured for security/diagnostics.
• Deletion: delete → prompt removal from public view; full erasure follows; backups expire per schedule. 30-day grace period before final deletion.

8. Security

TLS in transit, encryption at rest (where supported), hashed passwords, access controls, rate limiting, least-privilege practices.

9. Your rights

Rights to access, rectify, delete, port, restrict, object. Contact: support@uniqueer.co. We respond within 30 days.

10. Law enforcement

We respond only to valid, narrowly-tailored legal requests. Where not prohibited, we notify the user before disclosure.

11. Cookies & tracking

Mobile app: no cookies, no advertising SDKs. Website: only strictly necessary cookies. We do not use marketing/advertising cookies or third-party trackers. Our hosting provider does not set cookies for basic site delivery; if privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics are enabled in the future, this section will be updated accordingly.

12. Changes

We may update this Policy; new versions will carry a new “Last updated” date.
